Assistant professor alleges caste discrimination in IIT Madras and resigns
New Delhi: In another incident, meanwhile, an assistant professor of IIT-Madras quits citing caste discrimination.
Vipin Puthiyedathveetil, an Assistant Professor of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) of the Indian Institute of Technology (@iitmadras) Madras, has resigned from the premier institute citing caste discrimination.
“Meanwhile, the IIT-M independent student group, ChintaBar, has issued a statement asking the administration and authorities concerned to conduct an inquiry in a time-bound manner into Vipin’s resignation. ‘We also urge the students, faculty and administration to come together to ideate on the reforms required to make our academic spaces more inclusive.'” — The New Indian Express
